The Millennium School of Irish Dance Studio is located at 9 Ethan Allen Highway, CT, opposite the Branchville train station on Route 7. The studio is equipped with a state-of-the-art Harlequin Cascade floor, mirrors, a professional sound , and other amenities that provide the kind of caring atmosphere and quality environment Sue's students and families have come to associate with her teaching. The studio moved to this location in 2009 after seven years in the center of Georgetown. The school has a close relationship with the Georgetown Martial Arts Center, just below the space the Millennium Studio occupies.
Newsworthy Notes:
Our traditionl Mother's Day Beginner Showcase 2010 was held on May 9 at Meadow Ridge in Redding. Our seven beginners plus assistant Jenn Cole-Cottle put on a very enjoyable 20 minute show!
Our Spring Performance 2010 was on April 10. It featured both hard shoe and soft shoe performances by eight MSID classes. The Ceili groups performed some non-traditional numbers, including a soft-shoe number by Junior Ceili choreographed to Michael Jackson's "Bad" (including moonwalk!) and a combo Ceili dance performed with drumsticks to the accompaniment of the bodhran (Irish drum).
Both Ceili groups performed in the Spring Performance of our sister school Art of Dance. The Junior Ceili reprised their "Bad" dance, and the Senior Ceili reprised a 2009 dance to "Jai Ho" from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack.
Our former student Mitchell DeSimone is joining the cast of Lord of the Dance for a three-week tour in Taiwan! Congrats!
